Those things are still going to come, that does not mean you are not in a space of loving yourself either. It just means that currently, for whatever reason, you are just going through a little dip.

And this does mean you stop beating yourself up.

If you’re stuck in feeling that the grass is greener, or you’re simply just having a funky day (and who doesn’t have those days!?) check out the ideas below to help uplift your life.

Here are some ideas to uplift your life 

1. GIVE UP THE NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING

You know how we just want to know. Well, that can drive you crazy. A lot of things are uncertain. You can go to a psychic and ask them to tell you where they see you going in the future, but your ability to let go and let God – getting in the flow and allowing your life to unfold is SUPER IMPORTANT. Because you’re going to go through stages in your life where you’re not going to be happy where you’re at. Trust that nature brought you this experience for a good reason and keep moving forward.

2. MEDITATE

Meditation is not about trying to get rid of your thoughts – it’s allowing your thoughts to just float by & not give them too much attention. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Praying is talking to God, meditation is listening to God.” Learn to get still & find that calmness within yourself – this technique helps you make the most changes, but you have to be patient. It takes a while, but you will get better and better at it. Start with 10mins by simply closing your eyes, saying a prayer, meditating on that prayer and focusing on your breath.

3. ASK SOMEONE TO COMPLIMENT YOU

If you have a hard time finding things to compliment about yourself, find someone who can tell you. Ask them what they think your talents are, where your beauty lies, and what your hidden skills are, it will really excite you & give you a better look at who you really are. Not what your parents told you who you are, or what your ex told you, but who you really are. Get past your limited view about yourself that is holding you back from all the good you deserve.

4. DONT’ LET TOXIC PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE

You do not have to marry your family or friends if they are being toxic in your life. Think about someone in your life that is having a negative experience in your life. If you have tried everything to make peace, you are free to leave. Tell them, things are not going well between us, and that for now, it will be best if we don’t cross paths. You can love them from a distance.

5. GO FORWARD FROM YOUR PAST MISTAKES

Mistakes do not define you. Let them go. Every night look back over your day and say, “Dear God, I’ve made a mistake and I regret what I did or said, I’m going to move on and learn from this.” Let it go before you go to sleep. The average person makes at least one mistake a day. Don’t beat yourself up, you’re human, learn & let go.

6. HAVE FUN

When was the last time you had some fun? Do some fun things and don’t take life or yourself so seriously. Whatever you think of is fun go and do that! Give yourself permission to carve out time from your schedule without the guilt and follow your joy. It could be as simple as trying out a new coffee shop, or picking up a favorite novel and reading in a park. Maybe it’s hosting a dinner for your girlfriends and coming up with a theme for that night, or watching a comedy movie.

7. SPEAK UP

If you’re always holding back and not speaking up for what you really want to say, you can carry bitterness and resentment, and you put pressure on your thyroid. And culturally we women are taught not to speak up. It’s in every home, even today. Girls are being taught, “You shouldn’t have really said that.” Change that today! It’s your birthright to speak up and express your true feelings. You can still do this by being calm, mature, and loving while talking.

8. FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE

Imagine what your life would look like if you believed in YOU and your worth. Make a list of 5 things that you could do today that would make you feel good about yourself and take ACTION. These are little things that boost your self-confidence. If you know you’re good at something like cooking, baking, writing, dancing etc., go and do more of those things. Make yourself feel good! Validate yourself and share your gifts with others. You have to be conscious of your choices. Always ask yourself, “Is the choice that I’m making now going to honor me?” I try to stay away from stuff that I know will bring me down. I’m careful with the music I listen to and what I watch on TV. If I know it will bring me down, I don’t go down that path. Instead, I try to choose uplifting, inspirational, and funny movies. Who doesn’t want to go UP? Be conscious of your choices. All these things are choices.

9. CELEBRATE YOUR PAST

Everything that happened is valuable to you. It’s all about perception. Don’t feel bad about your breakup that may have been messy at the end. Hard to do? Yes, of course. Anything that requires change involves work. Try to focus on the parts as to why you got together – surely there was love there that’s why you got together. Don’t focus on the bad bits. Honor the relationship and them and give it a positive vibe. It will serve you. Trust me. You do not want to get sick down the track. This also sets you up to embrace a happier future. But a happier future begins in this moment. Start creating a new beautiful chapter. Remember, your history is not your destiny. Let it go, beautiful.

10. MANAGE THE WORRY

Worrying is one of those heavy emotions and something you don’t want to consistently hang onto because it lowers your immune system. Think of ways to stop worrying, especially at night. Always do something inspirational & relaxing before you go to bed. You need to train yourself. Instead of reaching for your phone & scrolling through social media, grab a good book and read 10 pages, spend time on the phone with someone fun, or turn your worries into prayers. Worrying is hard on your body and does not solve anything.

11. STOP OBSESSING OVER YOUR BODY

As women, we are obsessed with our body. Throw your scale away. I mean it. Don’t let a number determine how you feel about yourself. Instead, focus on health, and adding more vegetables and fruits into your diet. According to Bronnie Ware, the author of the Top five regrets of the dying, one of the top five regrets was that they wish they had let themselves be happier. Don’t let the scale determine the level of your happiness.

12. TRUST YOURSELF

You are capable of making significant changes. Visualize the outcome you want, whether that’s a partner, a better home etc. And always be sending the universe a picture of WHAT YOU WANT. Nurture your dream: study, read, and work towards creating your dream while you keep your day job. It’s okay if you don’t have a clue yet, that’s normal at certain stages of our lives. But be doing whatever you’re passionate about.

13. HAVE THAT AWKARD CONVERSATION

That awkward conversation that you’ve been avoiding. Get it over with. Put it behind you. Take a deep breath and say your truth. Saying your truth can open up doors. And we have to stop judging people. Always remember there is a small child within that person that is hurting and insecure. The more you get to know people the less you judge. However, don’t go back to places where you’ve been treated badly.

14. TAKE A BREAK

Get a new perspective. Go someplace you’ve never been before, even if it’s just a day. Don’t wait for that perfect time. Perfect never arrives.

15. FORGIVE YOURSELF

Ask yourself what you could forgive yourself today that you’ve been hanging onto. Pick something and say I’m going to quit beating myself over the way I handled that relationship breakup or whatever. This can take many times over to do, but worth it. Be free. It is your right.

16. EXPRESS LOVE ALL THE TIME

Give positive feedback to strangers. Smile. Say “Good Morning” on your morning walk. Be of service. Give a compliment. Volunteer. As Gandhi said: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

17. GO OUTSIDE

Get your Vitamin D levels checked. There was a time when I was deficient in Vitamin D which was causing other health problems. We have been told to be afraid of the sun; I don’t know about you but whenever I spend time in the sun, almost always, I am healed. Sun brings happiness. If you’re worried about skin cancer, you need to make sure you have enough antioxidants in your diet from fruits and vegetables and take a good antioxidant vitamin supplement.

18. STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS

If you want someone to love you for who you are, you have to be who you are. Be real and don’t gameplay. Don’t be someone you’re not. If you want to experience a real relationship you have to be the real you. And why wouldn’t you want to be the real you? You are a magnificent and beautiful human being!

19. WEAR CLOTHES THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY

Don’t underestimate the power of dressing up & putting on lipstick to uplift your spirit. This also helps to set a positive vibe for the day.  Wear clothes that flatter your figure.

20. FIND 5 POSITIVE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU

Understand who you used to be, who you are now, and who you want to become. Visualize yourself in the future with all the attributes you aspire to have, and they will be drawn to you. Don’t let your self-doubt sabotage your self-love. Let your positive words sink in by affirming them every day.

21. MAKE YOUR BED

Simple but powerful. There is something about making your bed in the morning that makes you feel like you have your life together (even when you feel like you don’t). Before you grab coffee start being productive and make your bed.

22. APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE
