Do you feel like there are times or seasons when you’re in a funk about everything; you hate your hair, your body, your love life, your job, or someone has just simply been a rude ass to you? (excuse the french.)
Well, we all experience funks in our life.
Maybe you used to be in such a good place, or you were find a week ago but now you’re struggling to pick yourself up and get motivated, inspired, and happy.
And maybe you’re feeling like this because you haven’t met your soulmate yet, or you’re not making the money you want yet, or you don’t have friends that you vibe with to hang out, or friends/family members make life hard for you, or you’re struggling with your health, whatever it is, you know that you need to get yourself out of a funk.
What’s interesting is, after much of my own research, neuroplasticity teaches us you’re not acting the way you do mostly because of what happened to you or what’s happening to you, you’re acting in this way because of how you interpreted and began to attach a belief to your funks.
How fascinating, right? I just love it! #geekgirl
So I got thinking at 3am and I asked myself, “If I never woke up the next day would I be satisfied with my life?”
And my answer was no, not really.
It’s not like I have regrets…well maybe one little one, but I’ve conquered and overcame a lot in my life thus far and I’m proud with that, but I know that I can do better and feel better and have a lot more FUN doing life.
If I find myself going to down the funky spiral, I come back to death and this usually puts things into perspective for me where I have the power to change my focus in that moment and connect deeper with my soul.
Now back to getting yourself out of a funk…
As Jim Rohn says, “Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.”
I also believe that happiness is an energy we generate after taking a series of conscious actionable steps. And man, sometimes it does take work. And sometimes those series of actionable steps do get interrupted.
I have my days when I’m not happy and feel like crap and I just want to hide under my blankets and not speak to anyone. So sometimes it does take effort and work to get yourself out that funk and into that happier place.
We have the power each day to wake up and decide how we want to approach the day. When we continue to focus on all the things that make us sad obviously we’re going to be sad.
Having said that, I’ve made a pep talk for you where I share my 5 secret strategies to help get yourself out of a funk and get back to loving you & life.
Allow this pep talk to support you and learn to cultivate a mind that will make the best out of any circumstance.
If need be, have a good cry and acknowledge and allow your emotions to surface and come through you, then grab your coffee and press play…
I hope this will put a smile back on your face.
Love & hugs,
Irene
